Konavle, also counting its wine-growing district to its landmarks, has an appropriate production of quality and autochthonous wines. Next to the internationally known types of wine such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon there are also numerous local and autochthonous types cultivated, such as Plavac Mali, Kadarun, Dalmatinka and others. Among them all, the autochthonous and domestic type of the Dubrovnik Malvasia blanc takes a special place.
It has been almost completely destroyed, and great importance was placed on its preservation and renewal. Numerous winegrowers from Konavle, who follow international trends, produce authentic and quality wines that exquisitely go along with the domestic gastronomic delicacies.
