Lučica bay is a historic settlement and a protected historic site.
Originally a fishermen settlement with houses used for storing fishing equipment, it is less than a kilometer away from the town by asphalt road or a 400 m long path through the woods.
Any kind of new construction is forbidden in Lučica, and all buildings are adapted according to original Mediterranean architecture.
For visitors, Lučica is secretive, shadowy, peaceful, and above all an enjoyable place. The promenade is made of stone and faces Korčula, and the bay itself is only big enough for small boats. For tourists, this is an advantage, because they can swim in the sea without being disturbed by noisy powerboats, pollution or crowds.
